Wonder is leading the way
South Korean motorcycle delivery company, Wonder, has taken the idea of loyalty points to new heights. The traditional method of accumulating virtual loyalty points which could then be used for discounts or freebies at the company has been turned on its head. Instead of doling our worthless loyalty points which only have value when used within the same company or their affiliates, this company has decided to give out Bitcoins. Yes, customers of Wonder will receive 10% of their payments in the form of Bitcoins. This sounds absolutely logical to me and a smart move by the company.

The company’s CEO Kim Chang-soo said this when he was asked why this method
“I think it is better for delivery services to pay their customers back with cryptocurrency that they can actually spend. It’s better than just rewarding them with discounts or loyalty points that really only benefit the service provider.”
Although South Korea has seen a fair amount of government pushback on the cryptocurrency market, this company does not seem to be worried about the government’s stance. Their actions seem to indicate that they believe that this roadblock will only be temporary.
They are not afraid to be the first movers and to implement a strategy that many would soon follow in the not too distant future.
