Ethereum mining RIG vs. mining in PC case - BIG temperature difference!
Hello there,
I decided to write down my own experience with Ethereum mining.
I started to mine Ethereum few months ago. I bought some GPUs and used an old PC boxes I had laying around. Since There is not usually much space in the PC box, I managed to put 2 GPUs to one case in the best case scenario (pun intended :)).
It is not an economical solution for long term run, but since I wanted to test how mining works, I tried it that way. Lowest inicial cost was the thing I was aiming for. So i just bought GPUs.
After some time I decided I need a mining RIG. It looks cool and it also is cool (hehe), that is the main reason I did it. If you are interested, I can write down the "How to build your own mining rig" guide in the next post.
Anyway, results are shocking!
4x Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB in two PC boxes had temerature 65,66, 72 and 73 degrees celsius. That is pretty high for long term mining. (in every PC box, one GPU is also warmed by the second so that is why one is hotter)
4x Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB in one mining RIG have temperatures 50, 51, 51 and 53 degrees celsius!
Both results are in a same room after a 24h mining.
So if you want to mine ethereum or if you already do it in the PC case, you should definitely build yourself a mining rig. Believe me, if I can do it, everyone can :)
does anyone know how to add picture from local disc, if the picture is not anywhere online? Thanks.
