is there a way to have bittrex display prices in USD rather than in Bitcoin prices? total newb question.

in #crypto7 years ago (edited)

All of the coins are in the bitcoin price, for example, .000455, .00000068, etc. It gets to be a bit confusing looking at it this way.

Is there a way to somehow modify it to show the pricing as $ USD?

Am I missing something extremely simple here?

You're not, it's just that there is no market for those coins to be traded against usd, so there is usually on those mid to low caps the pars x/btc or x/eth.

But you can actually see the price in $ on bittrex if you go to the coin in specific and on the top corner it shows how much is the value of the coin in usd as shown in the picture below

No, Bittrex won't show USD on the charts. One option is to find your coin on coinmarketcap.com. You can see your coin's BTC value and dollar value on the chart and if you click the market tab you can see the dollar value specifically at Bittrex.

Unfortunately, this it isn't ideal to switch back and forth and have to corroberate everything so the best thing to do is to just start paying attention to the BTC value. When I learned about "Satoshi's" it got a lot easier to understand.
