We had mentioned this exciting new before that Arizona may become the first State that will allow citizens to pay their State Taxes in crypto’s.
Here is the latest update:
- the final bill’s passage is still being debated in the Arizona House. It has passed the Arizona Senate.
- if passed , it will go into affect in the year 2020
- the crypto’s paid to the state would need to be converted to fiat in 24 hours of receipt
- if a taxpayer pay’s in crypto’s and the value goes down before receipt — you still owe
What is interesting to see and Arizona says as much, they want to be seen as a State that is progressive to crypto’s and blockchain technology. They would like to see companies move to Arizona and see this as a differentiator.
At a larger level, can we say the same will happen to countries? Soon, there will be startling differences between countries that are crypto friendly and those that are not.
I still fee that taxation has a LONG way to go with crypto’s. Until the government drops the taxation of crypto’s for every single transaction, we will see people hold their long term cryptos that would face high taxation. They need a law that says “under $1000” is Tax Free —- now that would encourage greater use.
This is a very big step forward for bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies imo. i hope it will go through because it would be a first step to make crypto a little bit "safer" and more accepted. Thanks for the post!
I think you see a state making bold moves that will influence others soon :-). I think it is good news as well.
Progress in crypto acceptance. Little at a time, then wham.
We see many little “big things” if that makes sense. The Coinbase “plug in” will be a large enabler for business. Who are a few owners in Coinbase ...NASDAQ and Digital Currency Group ...who owns parts of DGC ? MasterCard. So you see the basis of something slowly happening. Fingers crossed.
What if the value goes up😂😂
Oh my....then we don’t have to pay taxes then .... LOL. Seriously, I think this is a “transition” and I pray it happens over time so all can be figured out and nobody is hurt. The reality is Fiat currencies have never lasted (ever). Always replaced by something else....cryptos appear to be that something else.
Looks like it..hence crypto-bulk buying from those who owns banks. Do you follow @ronmamita?
I haven’t....I’ll check him/her out.
he was active till his house was affected by a typhoon like 2 months ago. i think he's in texas.
