Up to $160 from Byteball to link your Steem username

Hi Steemian,

Byteball's team just release a new kind of Airdrop (original article here) and this one is particularly interesting. Cherry on the pie: it's made for us Steemian :-)

So here's a quick tutorial to link your Steem account to your Byteball wallet and of course claim your reward :-p

STEP 1: Get Byteball (no pun intended ;-))

You'll need at least version 2.4 of the wallet, easiest way to get it is directly from the official website so you'll get the latest version

Setup of the wallet isn't covered here but that's fairly straight forward if you've already setup a crypto wallet... Just remember to securely cold store your seed ;-)

STEP 2: Get the bot

Byteball's wallet is actually more like a plateform on which you can install dApps (just like Ethereum) but instead of being a blockchain this is a DAG (like IOTA). You can interact with dApps using Bots and you can setup bots in the "chat" window (bottom right corner of the wallet).

Of course there is more than one way to skin a cat so I'll present the easiest one (which also include a referal for me so that's a win-win if you'd like to say thank you ;-)).

Go in the "Contacts" tab then "Add a new device":

Then clic on "Accept invitation from the other device" and copy / paste the following link:

Then clic on the big blue button and you're officially setup!

STEP 3: Link your Steem account

Once the bot is setup you should be seeing the bot's chat. Here clic on the "..." (bottom left corner of the chat) and select "Insert my address" to automatically insert your Byteball address:

Instructions should appear. Amongst these you'll find a link tto connect using "Steem Connect", use that link to authenticate:

Once you're authenticated with Steem Connect you can go back to your Byteball wallet which should be displaying your Steem Username (if not wait a couple minutes).

The bot will ask if you'd like to display that publicly or not, basically if you want to allow anyone with your Byteball address to be able to link it to your Steem Username or if you'd like to keep these informations stored privately on your end (locally):

Finally you need to sign a message with your Byteball's wallet private key in order to attest you own the wallet. To do that just clic on the link in the message and get your reward in GBB (Gigabytes) right after.

Reward is split to avoid abuse. 50% of the reward is delivered immediately and the remaining 50% are lock in a smart contract which will become available in exactly a year.

For information your reward is based on your Steem's reputation so the higher your reputation the higher your reward.

From $5 minimum to $160 that's a very good airdrop in my opinion:
