Bitcoin consumes a lot of energy, but it can used to consume excess energy...
The big knock on bitcoin currently is that it uses a ton of energy and leaves a huge carbon foot print.

While the latter is debatable, the former is not.

Bitcoin does use a lot of energy, but it can be used to soak up stranded, wasted, and excess energy.

Turning a net negative into a positive...

This graphic shows that bitcoin used less energy in Texas than was wasted in all of last year...

Seems like a pretty good use case for bitcoin to me!
