Evolution of eCommerce

One of the best beauties of the internet is instant access. The world wide web has changed the way we work, the way we socialize, and the explosion of eCommerce has changed the way we shop (forever).

Over the past decade, the evolution of both tech hardware and the internet has had a direct correlation with eCommerce. Just as the internet has grown into the desired medium for marketing, advertising, and purchasing of products, goods, and services; eCommerce has grown to rival traditional shopping in many ways.

The most impactful changes that have taken place in the eCommerce realm in the last 10 years, however, include:

The rise of online marketplaces.

The seamless shift to using mobile devices for online shopping.

The tremendous growth of online and digital marketing and advertising.

The practice using of digital modifications or enhancements to reality in sales and mainstream consumer shopping.

Despite all this changes there is also a huge problem in transaction, some of the problems are :

• Problem in customer relations.

• Lack of Transparency

• Centralized Monopolies

• SKU Commoditization: There is only one attribute of the product or service being sold, that is discoverable by buyers – ‘Price’. Offerings are maintained as SKU’s (Stock Keeping Units) and pushed to consumers. This assumes significance in an experience economy where the definition of consumer “value” has moved beyond price.

• Trust: Authenticity, uniqueness, origin, ethical sourcing practices when most of this things are not known there will be fear of purchasing such commodity.

RunsdotCom is the solution.
RUNS will transform eCommerce in two ways

1. From Centralized Monopolies (Intermediary) to a Decentralized Platform built on Digital Trust (Facilitator)
2. From Electronic (SKU) Commerce to Experience (XKU) Commerce
   There are two “agents of change” that will enable RUNS to deliver on this transformation. Blockchain Technology will deliver on establishing decentralization and digital trust while the XKUs (Experience Keeping Units) will replace products (Stock Keeping Units) and transform Electronic Commerce to Experience
   Commerce. As a consequence, RUNS aims to be a Decentralized Experience Commerce Platform. No transformation is instantaneous and therefore RUNS will evolve across two transformative phases – Pre-Decentralization phase and Post-Decentralization phase. The platform’s features and functions are closely aligned to the objectives of the two phases and will eventually culminate in establishing Digital Trust. An extremely important aspect of differentiation for RUNS, is the
   concept of an XKU (Experience Keeping Unit). The sections below,
   provide a detailed description of the same.

What is an XKU?
The second aspect of transformation is associated with the concept of XKUs (Experience Keeping Units) as opposed to conventional SKUs (Stock Keeping Units).
Digital Trust encompasses everything from product information to data collection to payment transactions occurring on the platform. Immutable distributed ledger entries for the above, creates transparency and trust in the way the platform operates.

The activities on the platform consist of buying/selling/auctioning of XKUs (Experience Keeping Units) and validating XKUs and merchants (e.g. validation of a merchant’s profile from a story, source or sustainability perspective and other means of enhancing experience and engagement with merchants).
The currency of transaction on the RUNS platform will be RUNS Tokens. RUNS Tokens are utility tokens that will be discussed in detail in subsequent sections. RUNS Token users will be able to participate in all the above mentioned activities, while non RUNS Token users (members in countries where token purchases are highly regulated) can only buy on the platform through fiat currency. Once regulation is favourable to the purchase of utility tokens in any country, members from that country would have to compulsorily use RUNS Tokens to transact on the RUNS platform
