It's probably not profitable at this point. You'd have to invest in mutliple GPUs / a big set up to get profitable, and even then it would be many months, maybe even a year or two, and many underestimate electricity, cost of equipment, etc.

I personally just have a mining software that slowly mines away while I'm doing other things on the computer. It's maybe ten cents a day, but I figured it's better than nothing. After all, you could have bought a few bitcoins for a few bucks and then years later you'd be pretty happy. So I'm just temporarily doing it for a potential gain down the road, based purely off of luck/speculation.

Better off to save money in other ways in the real world and then try to just trade some alts. More fun anyways :)
