Women are Joining the Crypto Market in High Numbers!

It appears the cryptocurrency world may not be dominated by males for much longer. At the beginning of the year, approximately 6% of women considered in investing in cryptocurrency, but as of June 2018, that number has skyrocketed and has more than doubled… it is now 13%!

According to a study made by London Block Exchange, a UK cryptocurrency exchange, one out of five millennial women are showing an interest in investing in cryptocurrency. Another study was done by Etero, a cryptocurrency exchange, suggests that until recent months, cryptocurrency was an industry that was male dominated, where it was reported the amount of women was only 8.5% compared to the 91.5% of men.

Whereas men take the “Fear of Missing Out” (FOMO) approach, this is not being seen in women. Women appear to be more premeditated in their cryptocurrency investments. The difference is staggering, with 50 % less women dealing with the Fear of Missing Out approach. On the contrary, women do not “go it alone” like most men, but the chance is doubled that they consulted their friends and family before making a cryptocurrency investment.

Agnes de Roeyer, London Block Exchange’s senior business analyst says, “There’s still a common misconception that cryptocurrency is a game for men, but we’ve seen hundreds of women sign up for our exchange in the last few months and some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable investors, leading the way in the industry are female.”
