The solid reputation of hardware portfolios as a secure and safe place to store digital currency was questioned when, in a report published in August 2017, It is alleged that Trezor, one of the most popular portfolios, has been successfully compromised. Based on the report, the device is considered vulnerable.

On his official blog, Trezor acknowledged the case and explained how the attack works. The company says that the private key is stored in the flash drive and moved to the ram's memory during use.

The danger of accessing the unauthorized hardware wallet appears to be limited to the Trezor devices. Users of other devices or wallets do not have to worry about security.

Based on its official blog, Trezor has already begun its version of Firmware Update 1.5.2 to remove all known vulnerabilities. The company, however, advises all its users to remain vigilant and to update their firmware immediately to protect their accounts completely.
