Who Knew Tariffs Would Kill The Economy

While I understand tariffs and the benefits they can have we all knew that once they where imposed that it wouldn't be on the up and up and that most likely trade wars. While a tariff can make sense when inflation is already high and people are struggling a tariff is only going to send those product prices higher and not enough to really encourage someone in the USA to start making it.

You see most products that come from Canada or Mexico are so dirt cheap compared to here in the USA that you would have to nearly impose a 100% tariff before it even started to make sense to make those products in the USA. Instead all we are doing now is that business are for sure not going to take in that 25% fee and instead they will pass that on to the consumer further increasing goods inflation rate.

For example if you bought a $1 avocado from Mexico last month it would now most likely cost you $1.25 or higher. This is the company passing the fee on to you. The only person that wins out in this case is once again the government and state that not only gets the 25% fee from the tariff but also the extra state sales tax for you buying that product which nearly all states now have. Yes, taxes just continue to grow and grow will tariffs at some point off set this?
