Time to Buy The Marijuana Coins?
NH Governor Chris Sununu just signed a marijuana decriminalization bill into law that would change marijuana possession to just a fine (http://nhpr.org/post/sununu-signs-marijuana-decriminalization-bill ) for the first few offenses and a misdemeanor after many offenses. "Under the new law set to take effect in 60 days, those in possession of up to three-quarters of an ounce would face a civil violation and be subject to a fine of up to $100 for a first offense." the article pointed out. NH gets closer and closer to marijuana decriminalization, a trend that is the same for many other states. Some predict that decriminalization could double by by 2020.
- What are people's predictions on when the huge surges that will likely come with mass decriminalization? There were small surges recently, but they have since died down.
- Were these related to legislation or were they mania and/or price action pumps?
I have already invested in Potcoin and I believe the Marijuana alt coins will serve a fast and growing market
I believe you are right, my friend. I can only see these coins growing.
Agree, if your in for the long term. . buy as much as you can.... when California gets rolling with recreational sales all coins will spike... I think all coins will spike when the stock market crashes..... for me .. bought more steem when it was below 1.00... now it almost 1.70..
Agreed! Steem too, I think will become BIG if you hold and Steemit takes over more an more of the space ( I think it will)
I think that people should never be imprisoned for marijuana and I hope that it gets fully decriminalized through out the world....
Yea I didnt even know this coin existed, or any marijuana based coins for that matter. So are they basically just contingent on the marijuana economy? Growers, dispensaries, medications, etc? I feel like this might be something for me, but I just dont understand what they're all about, il have to read more I guess. If you have some quick bits of info on them that you think I should know before investing in something like that, let me know everyone
Just looked at one of my wallets and found that it supports potcoin, but not marijuanacoin. I guess if im gonna invest in either one, the decision is already made for lol
Hi @thefeetofpete , So, the idea with them is usually that the coin would be backed by a certain amount of marijuana, the same as some currencies claim to be backed by gold. I actually don't believe there is a 'marijuanacoin' right now, I was just using that term to refer to the marijuana backed coins, such as potcoin, dopecoin, and cannabiscoin. All 3 of these are sold on Bittrex, fyi. :)
Ohh OK. So the idea is that as the marijuana economy gains steam, that these coins will as well? But actually there really is a marijuanacoin with that exact name lol Didn't realize that you were just generalizing a bunch of different marijuana currencies, but you may have stumbled on to something regardless. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/marijuanacoin/
its actually up 3 cents or so since my first search for it when I first commented here, not too shabby. It I compared it to potcoin and they both are around the same price, and seem to spike at just about the same times. But again, its not supported by any of my wallets though.
and yeah, that's the idea, that they would grow as the marijuana economy does.
oh wow, i didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out! Definitely one I'll check out too!
Interesting name lol. I wonder about it's future.
