More Sanction Dodging with Crypto

Another article by cointelegraph, this time reporting that Russia and Iran might use cryptocurrencies to transact between each other and avoid sanctions & banks.

Iran and Russia Discuss Transacting in Crypto to Avoid International Sanctions

Iran and Russia could start using cryptocurrencies to avoid Western sanctions ...

Personally I have mixed feelings about this. It show it’s decentralization and it’s ability to prevent governmental control but at the same time it also goes to show it can be used be bad actors too (which could end in a lot of bad publicity).

What are your thoughts? I'd love to know

CHEERS! @b1b4rg7

As far as i’m concerned all this does is prove crypto’s effectiveness as money.
Bad actors are bad actors, and if they weren’t doing it with crypto they’d be doing it with something else.

Not arguing with you there. I was just referring to the fear of tons of bad publicity, perhaps should clarify that in the article.

I hear ya. Personally i think if the “crypto is used by criminals” narrative was going to kill crypto, it would have already. These sorts of arguments have been around since way back in the days of Silk Road, and for the most part they’ve been unsuccesful in deterring interest.
