A newbies experience with Cryptocoins PT 2

in #crypto7 years ago

Three days ago I wrote a brief story about my intial experiences with Cryptocoins/Cryptocurrencies/Crypto and focused on the process of "cashing out". I described setting up a brand new checking account with Capital One 360 for no fees and no minimum balance.

After two days the funds from coinbase have cleared and I have successfully mined, traded, spent and cashed out a bit of cryptocurrency. I am currently still mining Zec(zcash) and XMR(Monero) using some spare video cards and decommissioned Xeon processors. I look forward to being able to directly spend Zec and XMR instead of trading and exchanging it and then waiting to cash out, however, I am not comfortable moving forward with the experience as a whole. The biggest thing that I'd like to see change moving forward is the delay in confirming crypto transactions. Coinbase was very easy to use and mostly performed as expected.

While more related to the transaction time, there was a brief point with Coinbase that my sell order claimed to go through but there was no listing of information on my account. Ten minutes later, I got an email indicating the trade executed, confirmed all the account information and my dashboard updated with the order as well.

I look forward to spending the next post detailing my XMR setup and how I feel about entering the world of mining.
I am also looking for recommendations on exchanges for trading to use until my preferred wallet is updated to handle all of the currencies I currently dabble in. Leave a recommendation in the comments for me! Thanks!
