Mining using my Pi... Update!

in #crypto7 years ago (edited)

Last time I wrote on here (Getting my piece of the Pi. ;)), I was telling you guys about my attempt at mining some Bytecoin using my Raspberry Pi... Well, after leaving it run and nearly burning the little sucker out, I have to say that it's not a worthwhile venture and that even my shitty ZTE Grand X2 Phone is a better mining tool.  I don't suggest anyone bother with it.  I'll fix up a couple computers that I have sitting around in storage to boost my mining power up a bit and stick to Steemit for the next little while, because I guess it's just not my time to be mining.

Oh well, I'll try to invest some money on some real mining gear when I manage to get a few extra bucks kicking around my wallet (probably not any time soon unfortunately).  As always, have a great one and Steem On!

Sooner than later babe... Love you! xox

Thanks for the upvotes babe!

I mine #gridcoin on my Pis, I also use Android phones, a laptop and a PC

how's that working out for you?

Im very happy with it, of corse Pis just top up my main mining machine, but I can leave them on 24/7 for a few watts which is cool.
Having been around the project for a while, I have faith the the Gridcoin project value will increase so the ups/downs in short term price dont bother me at all.
I have made more money than I ever imagined by just hodling my stake and selling little bits on the highs; I dont really understand miners who want weekly fiat earnings, thats not how crypto works in my experience. I then rebuy on lows, many in the community do.

The cool thing with Gridcoin, whatever happens Im doing genuine scientific research that benefits humanity; now thats real value. Thats why people tend to come to Gridcoin and not leave again, and thats why it will be a success; people value their contributions, as well as the financial returns.

Awesome stuff! This post earned you a new follower, my fellow home miner. ;) Good luck with your mining project and I'll be looking forward to more updates from you in the future!

As to myself, once I get back from Japan early next week, I plan to switch my X11/X13/X15/Quark miner from mining purely Dash (since the difficulty has gone insane in the past few weeks) to multi-algo multi-coin mining with payouts in Dash. Should be more profitable that way. And possibly directing my Bitcoin miner to mine Bitcoin Cash, once the difficulty has dropped.
