Lisk plans to launch a modular cryptocurrency which it says would satisfy the growing interest to use the blockchain as a decentralized database for different use-cases outside of FinTech May 24.

According to its co-founder and CEO, Max Kordek, the platform will allow JavaScript developers to follow it by offering them necessary tools to deploy a blockchain application in its own sidechain on the Lisk network. They won’t have to learn complex languages of individual blockchains.

Lol...man it is so hilarious because a long time ago when bitshares 1.0 was out I had an idea called mirrorshares that would essentially be a chain to connect all the sidechains and provide redundancy of data storage among other services. The idea was that all the blockchains collectively could handle high loads for the network and anyone could build their own chains and tools for making it easier to create your own chains.

I wonder if javascript is going to make it any easier than it presently is...or if that is just a selling point. I suppose we will have to see, but I suspect it will be harder than people think.

It should make things easier in a sense that javascript is a pretty widely used programming language, so there is a large, existing developer talent pool that can be tapped into.
