I think it's a trend you'll see unfortunately across the industry.. KYC/AML requirements are coming to any exchanges that interact with the USD and I think that Poloniex is looking to add a fiat gateway to compete with Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini.. Should be interesting to see how this affects Polo's business
