It's time for people to start taking security seriously. I myself ordered a offline electric wallet called Trezor and it can not get here fast enough. Hackers will soon own the majority of cryptocurrency. What does this say about the stability of cryptocurrency?! Very worrisome.
Trezor is a good product, took delivery a month back in prep for btc hard fork. The ETH integration is via MyEtherWallet, it's not slick but it works. I'm just really happy to have these crypto-units as close to my physical hand as is possible!
I just withdrew all my Bitcoin and put it in my Trezor. Are you guys ready for the hard fork next week?

Vitalik has already came out and said that the ecosystem was less mature when the DAO attack happened so no hard fork is possible and that Ethereum is out of his hands. That said, when will the market wake up and realized ETC is now redundant? Does this officially prove that there is no reverse gear on ETH? No rollback should = no need for ETC. It's hard to believe that all this will get swept under the rug but it kind of is at least for the time being. You gonna have your finger at least hovering over the ETC sell button at his point.
Are we safe from hackers on cryptocurrency coin market, today there is news on hackers and other computer frauding.
Exploits abound. If anything, this is another form of security testing to find vulnerabilities so that when the platforms control more assets, it will have plugged the holes keeping it safe.
No wonder ETH is dropping while everyone else is booming
I'm expecting the price to go down much in the same way bitcoins price crashed after the Mt Gox hacks. But we shall see. Hopefully the community has matured enough to know that this hack does not threaten the integrity of Ether, in the same way the Mt Gox did not threaten the integrity of Bitcoin.

These hackers have done a good job... saw this coming from a mile away people needed to be woken up.
Ethereum has ONE GIGANTIC FLAW that has been ignored by the community and their belief system.
History lesson : Before there were two Ethereums there was an Ethereum based DAO that got hacked. The hackers got away with 150 million. However because Vitalik, his investors and his crew are sore losers they decided to edit the Ethereum code and pull back the funds from the hackers Ethereum address... Sounds like justice was served but to what cost ? That pull back that everybody is so happy for is valid proof of an exploit that can pull back all ETH from any wallet if they see fit.
The original Ethereum team is now called Ethereum classic simple because they said the hack was fair gain "it looks like a grey area but there isn't the ability to get away with no development group putting there definition of justice on you is what made bitcoin what it is".
Think about it: If you have you ETH in your wallets are you safe knowing that Vitalik and his team has the power to access it ? if corporate likes it , it's compromised.
Dumb down: Ethereum has back doors, is centralized decentralization.
I'm no hater I like cryptocurrencies however all this new hype and dumb money around cryptocurrencies is causing the misinformed people joining in to get hurt financially.

After the DAO attack etherum team split, Vitalik and his group edited the etherum code so that reversals could be possible to please investors "saving his ass" and called the edited "compromised" code Ethereum and the old code and that was left behind is called Ethereum classic which still have the old development team that didn't sell out.
Cryptocurrencies are originally tools in hacker space to be used for a purpose, now all these investors are lining up to get hacked because all they see is an investment or currency cross to be traded.
ETC will remain relevant until it's code is compromised. Hackers want to get away when they do their thing.
ZEC is also compromised a better opsec would be XMR.
Vitalik is indeed a genius however geniuses sell out all the time after all most men will lose all honor and gain new honor for riches.
The same thing is happening to bitcoin as well the code is being edited because of greed. Bitcoin could be used as internet money however they all seem to really want it to be able to be used as "internet currency". just goes to show even though we are a smart generation we still do have a really young mind.
