How to Mine Ferrum

I was tipped of about Ferrum a week ago and have personally been mining it since then. It's a new project that was released on bitcoin talk on 2/21. There is a link at the bottom of this post of the thread. With any crypto project Do your own research. This is just a How to guide on mining Ferrum.

About Ferrum

Many “startups” nowadays promise partnership with Visa or Mastercard in the nearest future, but we tend to be more materially minded and aim at establishing relationships with so called BTMs (Bitcoin ATMs) that are spreading widely across the world and even outpace ATMs. BTM is a made up name for Crypto ATMs, implying they accept BTC, but they actually accept multiple currencies as well as fiat money depending on the location. Our ultimate goal is to implement Ferrum coin as one of BTMs currencies and offer worldwide transfer, exchange and deposit services. We want to provide easy and flash-like transactions around the world allowing users to send fiat money to anyone anywhere, without hesitation and minimum, unprecedented for money transfer companies fee using mobile phone as main accessing and security tool. We plan to create FRM iOS and Android apps with 2FA security system to interact with BTMs and a website for direct fiat – crypto operations. In the future we also plan to implement FRM - credit card instant mobile transfers, that will automatically take funds from your FRM wallet and turn it in fiat so that you could use PayPass like usual, but you will be actually spending FRM.
What's unique about Ferrum Coin?

We tend to focus on fiat – crypto – fiat exchange and provide maximum ease of access and usability even for non crypto-sophisticated audience. We want crypto to become part of everyday life and we truly believe it's possible.
This is also why we have limited supply, unlike numerous other projects, all Ferrum coins should be mined by the end of 2018 and circulating freely on the market constantly being used for real life purchases and transfers which will diminish exchange rate fluctuations and stabilize our micro-economy.

Address page

Ferrum address

Once you have that file saved run it and get a wallet address from the software we are going to need that later when we start mining.

Now that you have a wallet address we are going to download the CCminer. The CCminer is is an open source project for CUDA compatible GPUs (nVidia). The project is compatible with both Linux and Windows platforms. Ccminer allows you to mine a lot of different algos with it with easy modification to change coins you would like to mine.

CCMiner Download https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases

Ferrum uses the skein algo. Keep that in mind we will need that information soon. Here are some mining pools for Ferrum.

Ferrum Mining Pools BSOD: http://bsod.pw Protopool: https://protopool.net Altminer: https://altminer.net Gos.cx: https://gos.cx Miningpower: https://miningpower.net Easymining: http://easyminingpool.co.in Bitcoinpool: http://bitcoin-pool.de

Choose one of the mining pools above. I do not have enough information on all of them so please do your own research into each one. I am choosing BSOD for this example. The connection port for BSOD is Port - 2151

Edit your .bat file like the following
-o stratum+tcp://pool.bsod.pw:2151 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> [-p <OPTIONS>]

For the -p you will add any additional settings you would like such as number of devices, intensity for the GPU's etc. We are going to ignore it for now.

Now save that file. Double click it and now you are mining! congrats!

Now lets set your overclock setting in MSI Afterburner

Download if you don't have MSI afterburner downloaded. It is the best overclocking software I have found.

Great write up! I missed this one on BCT and it actually looks pretty good. There have been so many scam masternode coins lately that I've tended to steer clear, but this project clearly has a lot more time and effort invested than others.

Best time to get in is definitely now with the short POW window. I have yet to put any of my rigs on a Skein coin to date, but I guess there is a first for everything. Gonna throw some hash in. :)
