God is faithful in fulfilling everything He has promised and uses the Holy Spirit to guide us through His Word even when the paths are unknown to us.
I went before the dawn, and cried;
I waited for Your word.
My eyes waited before the watches of the night,
That I might meditate on Your commandments.
Psalm 119:147-148
When we hear and smell that God is faithful to fulfill everything He has promised and that even more, He has the Holy Spirit who helps us in our weakness and guides us at every step of our lives, we must understand that there is also a part in us, there are requirements that we must put into practice.
Make me understand the way of Your commandments,
That I may meditate on Your wonders.
Psalms 119:27
First of all, if we do not read and meditate on the word of God, it is impossible for us to understand it, much less will we be able to know what His thoughts are. This is not about choosing some verse or another that speaks of what we want to hear. God has the power and authority to speak to us and guide us through any text, that is: the entire Bible, our job is to read, meditate and seek wisdom in His word continuously.
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I have said to you.
John 14:26
We must also learn to listen to God, the Holy Spirit motivates us and leads us to listen to the voice of God through different means. An example may be when we are studying the word of God, the Holy Spirit is the one who helps us understand by shedding light to know what God is telling us or the direction He is giving us. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will also remind us of a text that brings us a meaning applicable to our particular situation, but what verse will it bring to mind if we do not study the Bible?
It is very important that both the meditation of the word and being willing to listen to the Holy Spirit of God will help us in our daily walk, this helps us to obey the word, to obey God in what He has for us even when we do not know the path, some seem uncertain, let us remember the life of Abraham when God told him to go to the land of his fathers but never specified what the destination would be.
Today is a great day to meditate and think about how important it is to live by faith, this life implies recognizing that God is enough and through His word He guides us, let us take a moment to pray and ask God to guide us through His Holy Spirit and ask Him what He wants from us, what is the path we should walk, in what direction. Our job now is to fully trust in God, meditate on His word, wait and listen attentively to the voice of His Holy Spirit through His word.
