Kutina City

Kutina is a town 70 kilometers away from Zagreb, situated on the southern slopes of the vineyards overgrown by the Moslavina gore forest and on the edge of the Lonjsko polje, one of the largest wetlands in this part of Europe.

With its 15,000 inhabitants Kutina is the largest Moslavina business, commercial and administrative center with many county offices and the largest Moslavina companies. Kutina is often called a green town, thanks to its numerous trees, bushes, hedges and parks. The pride of the town is the Church of Our Lady of Snow, a centuries-old park of chestnuts in the old center and the beautiful house of the Pazder family with a garden in the busiest part of town. River forts are an integral part of the city and a place for many children.

Kutina is conveniently located along the Zagreb - Lipovac motorway, to which is also the main road to Garešnica, Daruvar, Bjelovar and Virovitica.

A large number of tourists from Hungary go through Kutina in transit. The railway line Paneuropski Koridor 10 from Zagreb towards Vinkovci and Belgrade passes through Kutina, and the proof that Kutina was in the ancient times was the crossroads of roads, and there was a Roman settlement which is supposed to have been mentioned in the Roman documents by Varianis. The remains of the settlement are located in the eastern part of Kutina, Kutina Lipi.

According to one interpretation Moslavina has taken over the Roman name for the Roman vineyards overgrown by Mons Claudius.kutina.jpgkutina1.jpg
