The Madrid prosecutor accused Cristiano of tax evasion of 14.7 million euros in a "deliberate" manner, citing the fact that he used a company founded in 2010 to conceal the income he earned in Spain for the rights to market his image.
Prosecutors said Ronaldo was evading the tax authorities by 1.4 million euros in 2011, 1.7 million euros in 2012, 3.2 million euros in 2013 and 8.5 million euros in 2014.
According to Spanish press reports, the Portuguese star, given the tax crimes accused, may face a prison sentence, up to 7 years.
