Ronaldinho Gaúcho will have his own Criptomoeda
Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, better known as Ronaldinho Gaúcho, or simply Ronaldinho, will launch his own criptomoeda, Ronaldinho Soccer Coin (RSC). The private sale of the tokens begins this Sunday (15) and for the public as of August 16.
Notably ambitious, the 38-year-old alegrese port project aims to build digital stadiums, virtual gyms, betting platforms, donation and payment systems, among others.
In his career as a player, Ronaldinho won two World Player of the Year awards and a Golden Ball. He has worked in major clubs such as Milan, Barcelona, Grêmio and Flamengo.
The blockchain project was started through an ex-player partnership with the Maltese startup World Soccer Coin (WSC). In the first phase of the ICO (Initial Money Offers), 140 million RSCs will be issued from the maximum supply of 350 million.
RSC will be created from the NEO platform and via smart contract.
There are several project calls made by the player. The first that indicated the new plan was in February this year. In one of them he says, "Ever since I thought about retiring, I began to think about my life after retirement. I want to contribute to the world as much as I can. "
On Twitter, the football legend made the RSC call in text and video.
"Today I present to you a great project that I am participating in, Soccer Coin, which will bring many benefits to the sport. Access the website "
The phases of the Project that starts this July extend to 2020, according to the script on Soccercoin website. White Paper is not yet available.
At least 300 digital football stadiums with planned facilities will be built in Africa, East and Southeast Asia and the Middle East, according to partnership plans. However, the intention is that the actions spread throughout the world.
Based on Blockchain technology, incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR), the football academies planned for 2019 are intended to host e-sports online tournaments with people from all over the world, both professional and amateur.
Also part of the plan is a project called Smile (Smile Project), Smile Project in Portuguese, which will be specific for children, disabled, and education for promising young sportspeople. The actions of this work range from donation of sports products to accessibility.
On the platform, Ronaldinho leaves a message of gratitude.
"I would like to thank everyone around the world who supported me. My sincere gratitude to all of you. Our life does not even come to a fraction of an instant compared with the time since the earth was created. "
He writes a short biography about the loss of his father, the happiness he has found through football and music, and the challenges he wants to face after retirement.
"From now on, out of gratitude, I want to deliver dreams, hope and smiles to people around the world through football and music. I want to contribute to the world as much as I can during my short life. "
[The athlete quotes 'music' because it's his second greatest hobby, after football, of course. He must make investments in the industry too].
WSC Executive Director Ward Saito said the project will bring a 'new joy' to the 3.5 billion football fans around the world via Ronaldinho's 'Digital Stadiums'.
