21:16 hrs IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Man of the Match: Whenever I bowl with the new ball, I try to swing it. It didn’t happen today, so I was focussed in bowling in good areas. When you’re confident, things get easier.
21:12 hrs IST: Virat Kohli: Bowlers were really clinical today and fielders as well. Both those guys are coming along nicely. They know they’re going to start more often than not. Today, with the wicket being slow, it was heartening to see them getting wickets in conventional ways. Dhawan has been playing really well. He’s pretty confident at the moment. Dinesh as well, getting some crucial runs for himself as well as the team
21:09 hrs IST: Williamson: It was one of those surfaces that if you could get a score on the board, and then squeeze, but 230 wasn’t enough. Credit to India the way they bowled. Lot of positives from our middle order to take us to that total. Surface wasn’t easy to play fluently.
21:04 hrs IST: Karthik: It is important to spend as much time in the middle. It was even more important for me to be there when we won the match and I am happy that I was able to do that. So far so good (on the comeback). I have had a lot of demons to fight and these things happen inside you. In the end lot of credit to Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli.

PREVIEW
New Zealand’s proficiency probably boils down to the preparation for the tour of India. Their A team played several games and a clutch of players finally found a place in the senior side. Then New Zealand played two practice games in Mumbai before the first ODI. Latham, who scored a century in the second warm-up game, carried his good form into the first of the three ODIs but what was more telling is Ross Taylor’s form.
Ross Taylor (95) and Tom Latham (103 not out) set a new record for the highest ever partnership for New Zealand against India by adding 200 runs for the fourth wicket. They erased the previous best of 190 between Scott Styris and Taylor also for the fourth wicket at Dambulla on August 10,2010. The 180-run stand for the third wicket between Adam Parore and Ken Rutherford at Vadodara on October 28,1994 was the previous best for New Zealand against India in India.
Statistics prove that new Zealand have historically played well in India and unlike Australia, who depended too much on a David Warner or a Steve Smith, the Kiwis have more muscle in their batting line-up.
India’s batting at Wankhede once again centred around Virat Kohli. The Indian cricket captain became the only second batsman to score a hundred in his 200th ODI by making 121 off 125 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Abraham de Villiers was the first batsman to achieve this feat. who on his 200th ODI, once again came up with a superb century .
