Apply for a credit card and get paid $1000 for doing so? Too good to be true? Find out!
I was scanning my banks website and my jaw dropped. Chase must have been asleep at the wheel. They are offering $800 in cash or $1000 towards travel if you apply for their Chase INK card and meet a spending requirement!
"But this is a business card! I don't have a business!" is the first thought that crosses peoples mind. However, if you have ever sold anything on eBay or Etsy, Babysat, Dog Walked, Tutored or anything similar, then like it or not, you do have a business.
You can apply for the card using this link:
https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=FP3F&CELL=63HL&MSC=1532158945
and use your legal name for "Legal Name Of The Business" and your Social Security number for "Tax Identification Number" since these types of business are sole proprietorships.
After you complete the application hopefully you are greeted by this screen:
The next step is put all of your bills and normal spending on this card to make sure you spend the necessary $5,000 in the first 3 months, and then wait for 80,000 Ultimate Reward points to be deposited in your account. You can simply turn these points into $800 statement credit, or direct deposit $800 into your bank. (Below is an example of someone redeeming points for cash)
What I like to do is to book travel through Chase's Travel portal. The Chase Ink lets you redeem Ultimate reward points for 1.25 cents per point, turning those 80,000 points into $1,000 towards travel! WOW!!! See below to see an example of how Chase gives you more for your money when redeeming for travel:
Please comment below if you have any questions. This is certainly a much easier way to make some spare cash than getting a second job!
I love free travel!!
If you are a person needing spare cash, not sure if this is the card for you....
Spending $5000 in a short 3 months is A HUGE amount of money!!!
Yes, this offer is very generous, but not really the right offer for most common people.
Maybe if you have a new car purchase, a move or some other large expenses that you will be using a credit card for anyway...then it may be a good option.
Just don't build up too much debt...or you will pay more than $1000 in interest IN NO TIME!!!
I recommend switching all your existing bills to this card. I know a lot of families that spend $2000 a month or so on various bills - especially those in high cost of living areas.
Point taken though! Please don't go into debt or spend more than you usually do to get the bonus! That's what Chase wants you to do!
