focusing on the end goal is key for me. even today I was plotting out how my actions (i.e. possible music-related tasks) map out towards my goals of the moment. By the time I "arrive" at the time to work on music, I need a pretty narrow window to work inside, like "this week I'm working on these two songs from this one record" or something.

and then I try to leave open space outside of that, lets say its only 20 hours of scheduled music time in a "full time" week, so I can just fuck around and make beats or jump on random collaborations other nights.
