Summer Decorating Ideas
In case you didn't notice, summer is already here. At least for us at the northern hemisphere. So if you need to add summer flavor at your place follow the next steps!
- Remove bulky decorations.
Your first move should be to replace your winter-ish carpets, curtains and sofa/bed drape with lightweight fabric (e.g linen, chiffon, silk etc.)
- Pick bright hues.
As a Greek i usually suggest light blue and white cause that's what defines us. The blue of our sea and the white of its waves. Of course selecting those colors is up to you, depending on the 'color palette' you already have in your house. Another choice are pastel colors (insist on bright hues though).
- Say yes to : floral, tropical, striped.
All three of them are really interesting summer dessin ( or else known as pattern). You can choose among them freely for your pillows, drapes, wallpaper, summer comforter or even your lamp shades.
- Boho style.
Bohemian style is defined by a great variety of patterns and colors. Colorful vases, use of patchwork as a carpet those are easily to be found and adopted cause there is a wide variety of them. Keep in mind that, in order to successfully apply this style to your place you really need many colors mixed up!
- Can you bring sea breeze at your place?
Choose simple materials like sand, straw matting, shells, starfish, tethers. Synthesize with them fill in a vase, decorate a tabletop use them at the frame of your mirror or even around your bathtub.
- Candles, candles everywhere.
You wanted a suggestion an economic one. Well you just got yourself a good one! Use them in lanterns or once again in vases or just let them be by themselves.
