I woke up with Glass Jaw Test in my head today

If you saw my last post about which song was in my head when I woke up, you know that I've been on a bit of a Shiner kick lately since hearing their new song and finding out that they're releasing a new album in May. Somehow, both of the songs I've mentioned so far are from their 2000 album, Starless. In the past, I wouldn't have considered that to be my favorite one, but it almost seems like it is these days.

Truth be told, I woke up with this song in my head yesterday as well. That's two days in a row. Sometimes, however, I don't have time to make a post about what song was in my head before I go to work. I use an alarm that goes off some time within a 30-minute window, supposedly when it'll be the easiest for me to wake up feeling refreshed. Sometimes, it goes off around 4:35 am, but sometimes it's not until 5:05 am. I like to leave by around 5:25, so on the days when my alarm goes off a little later, I really only have time to make coffee, brush my teeth, and get ready to get out the door. On the days when I have a little more time, I also like to do a meditation lesson in my Waking Up app, so I don't always have time to make a post on those days, either.

For quite some time, I've been in a bit of a podcast phase and haven't even been listening to all that much music, but that's been changing lately. When I find myself humming songs or having them stuck in my head as I struggle to pay attention to podcasts, that's when I know that maybe it's time for a change. Just as my taste in musical styles seems to ebb and flow, my preference for podcasts vs music does as well.

This post is part of an ongoing series in which I document the songs which are in my head immediately upon waking. I've been making them for a long time now.
