Inktober Double Trouble : Enchanted Husky
Hello everyone,
First off I want to say how proud I am to have been featured not once but twice by @OCD Steem for Inktober to which I am absolutely speechless.
(Silence)
I thought the following drawing was going to simply be husky, good thing I began working small on a big page because I went on to combine with enchanted, the day 7 prompt. I figured the butterflies were a sign that this drawing was going places.
I love going to Flickr for all things animal. Notice how tentative the line of the back is, there are a few options so I will have to pick one when I ink it.
The drawing is coming to life but there is a lot of work ahead to create the texture for the fur.
I drew the body from memory. I am glad that I decided to keep going, it makes the narrative that much stronger with a gnome quietly fishing by our dog. It will be tricky to add a lush background without swallowing the beast whole. You can easily loose the shape of your subject by creating an environment.
This challenge is pushing my skills Which is wonderful because I had been itching to make more art for a while. Sometimes I even get a little frustrated teaching when I feel like I can barely find the time for my own practice. However, it is a lot to add hours of drawing to my routine so who knows what will happen. I treasure each drawing like a victory and quitting the challenge can never take that away.
Don't fret, I have every intention on finishing strong!
Speaking of fishing strong, I wonder if our gnome caught a minnow from the river. Our husky is day dreaming and this allows him into a world of fairies and elves, she is amused by the butterflies in front of her. I like to think of myself as the husky, it is a very Taurus thing to do, laying around by the fairies. I like to imagine that I can create a place like this to rest as I am amused by the spectacle of shapes and color around me. Isn’t it the dream of every artist? To be immersed in her fantasy?
Our husky is pensive yet entertained, she is wise yet playful.
I like to think of this way of rendering water like an army camouflage with different values creating cloudy shapes next to each other.
The fact the lower left being understated is no accident at all. A bit of Van Gogh hatching here and there and you can offer an area of quietness to your spectator.
Lastly, I abstained from working the background to close to the canine, this is how she can stand out from the darker tones of the jungle behind.
A little help from the filters for our header here. The blur is useful because sometimes with a drawing like this one, the eye doesn’t know where to go. The blur emphasizes the point of interest and creates harmony.
Thank you for dropping by everyone, if you are still here, you must be enjoying yourself. Keep drawing, keep creating and cherishing this wonderful community we have!
I love it so much, your husky draw my attention when i vet through the feed.. Keep it up. Hope to see more from you.

This is a very touching comment indeed, thank you!
You are ambitious tackling full backgrounds for these. Love the little gnome fisherman. This is a cute drawing
Yes well, that's where combining the prompts comes in handy, thank you my friend.
