More on shading
It's been a while. I've been busy with things offline, but I still found time to make a cartoon image. I'm starting to make it look more lively. It is looking more human than an anime. That's the effect of shading. You can shade to make it look exactly like the person or you can leave it like that as a pure cartoon. It all depends on what the client wants. But most of them wants something that will look like them. That's why shading is necessary. Here is my latest work.
The hard brush was used for the straight lines while the soft brush made it wider. Don't forget to reduce the opacity. You don't want to make it look like tribal marks. The colors to use is the most important thing. I'll advise you to use two colors for shading. A dark version of the skin color and a light version of it. It works like magic.
