Photo Fun Contest - Week 11 – “Weird Creations of Nature"
@claudiaz is looking for Weird Creations of Nature for her contest this week.
My first entry is a rock formation in NW Arizona, near Oatman. I'm pretty sure it must have a name, but after spending some time looking I haven't been able to find it, and I didn't record it when I took the photo.
The markers on top indicate it is a spiritual site where people have spread the ashes of their loved ones.
I love how the rock has eyes that look out over the desert.
Staying with the rock theme, another oddity is Skull Rock in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.
Ok I would never have thought of that as a place to scatter ashes. Very cool and thanks for telling us.
This is near old Rt.66, so I would imagine it holds memories for many people.
This place looks great! Nature is so wise... By the way happy women's day dear Melinda ♥
And the same to you, my friend!! ❤
Wow that's a pretty interesting rock formation. Is it allowed to climb up the rock? There must be a lot of interesting stuff up there.
Yes, you could climb up there. Jim climbed up into the 'eyes' I stayed down below and took pictures of rocks and cactus!
Wow, that really looks like a skull! I'd love to be able to find such interesting formations. Well done Melinda!
The American West has some really great rocks!
I've only seen the American West in TV, but indeed, there are so many interesting places there!
While it is weird and unusual, I find it more interesting especially the last one. It's shaped like a head of an alien.
Ha! Maybe that's where the movie people got the idea!
WOW. I love the skull rock!
The information on the first photographed is amazing. Thank you for sharing really.
very successful photos
