Khaleda's bail in corruption case expires, court hearing in Dhaka today
The Dhaka High Court extended the bail on former prime minister Khaleda Zia in the corruption case. The bail period was extended till 17 July. Since March, his bail has been increased almost five times this year. The High Court will start hearing the matter again today.

Zia Charitable Trust case against Zia, accused in three corruption cases, was settled on July 10. But his solicitor urged him to prolong the bail period by showing Zia's illness. After this, Justice Akteruzzaman ordered the jail term to be extended till July 17.
Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment and fined on February 8 in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. He is currently in a 200-year-old prison in Dhaka.
