GekeVenn: CACI

CACI (formerly Consolidated Analysis Center, Incorporated) is a multinational based in Arlington, Virginia. According to its website, the company "provides information solutions and services in support of national security missions and government transformation for intelligence, defense, and federal civilian customers."

In 2004, employees of CACI were involved in the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. CACI employees were present at the facility as defense contractors doing interrogation work. In a resulting legal suit brought against the company by several Iraqi inmates, CACI argued that the incidents of torture were required duties stipulated by their government contract.

The US Court of Appeals later ruled that the company had government contractor immunity. CACI then counter-sued the Iraqi inmates for legal expenses.

In 2013 an internal DoD audit showed that CACI was one of six defense contractors found to have improperly charged the Defense Department for their lobbying costs. The company claimed it was unaware that an employee had lobbied on their behalf.
