The Effects of lockdown
One of the most used words of the year 2020 is "lockdown". Just between December 2019 till date practically every country has had some form of a country or region lockdown.
The question is how effective have these lockdowns been? In most cases it has had some positive effect while in some other cases, not so much. Some countries who have had some episode of a lockdown are predicting or reporting a second wave of the coronavirus. So what went wrong?
For me, I think part of the reason it appears the lockdown has not been effective is because some people didn't and still don't comply with the rules of the lockdown.
However, lockdown can be mentally challenging and draining on both those who are outdoorsy and those who prefer to stay indoors.
The economic impact of lockdown is also very depressing. Jobs are lost, businesses are closed and most economies have been thrown into recession.
So, even though we are happy about some positive effect of the lockdown, that is, stoping the spread, we are also weary about the negative impacts it has had on our different economies and our mental health.
So let's join hands together and help a brother, sister, friend, even non-friends in need.
