In mid-February 2020 Justin Sun acquired the shares in Steemit Inc and proceeded centralise the blockchain under his control, improperly using Steemit's founders stake (intended for development and decentralisation of the blockchain) and tricking exchanges into initially supporting his power grab.
After extensive efforts to resolve the dispute failed, the community revolted and formed a new, fully decentralised blockchain - Hive - without the pernicious influence of Justin Sun and his minions.
Because of Open Source licensing, Hive was legally able to duplicate all the code and content on Steem.
The vast majority of the community and decentralised applications and projects moved to Hive and Hive was listed on many cryptocurrency exchanges without having to pay the normal listing fees.
On 19 May 2020, a Steem hard fork (0.23) designed to steal the Steem from 65 accounts associated with creating Hive became public.

Israel is leading the world in drastic action to keep Coronavirus out.
My flight from Tel Aviv to Seoul tomorrow night was just cancelled by Korean Air after Israel turned an entire planeload of people (130 Koreans and 70 foreigners) around and sent them back (after taking 12 Israelis off the plane in Tel Aviv in full hazmat suits).
I have managed to get a full refund of my ticket as a result of this.
I'd been trying for a week or more to cancel with a full refund because I could see how things were developing.
But Korean Air stuffed me around sending me from their main call center to the Israeli office and back with each saying they couldn't handle the request.
The government is even considering a complete closure of the borders to non-residents!
This is scarily like the plot of the movie World War Z, where Israel closes its borders and keeps the Zombie Apocalypse out (until Brad Pitt arrives).
I am glad you got refunded. I hope Israel extends it's quarantines to a month, as it's been shown the virus can remain latent for at least 24 days without causing symptoms. I hope Korea also manages to quash it's incipient epidemic. What horrible destruction cults have caused Korea in the last decade!
Yes, I've seen this extended latency information.
Biggest problem is that a large percentage of people show no symptoms at all. Apparently 50% of Diamond Princess passengers were asymptomatic and another 40% had mild cold like symptoms that most people wouldn't pay any attention to. 10% got really sick though.
