Copper melting furnace Rolling mill
Today we will share with you the common defects when heating steel in the rolling production line.
As the heating temperature increases, the heating time increases, and the layer thickness of the oxide increases. It will lead to increased burning loss of steel, smaller size of parts and rough surface, which will affect the quality of subsequent heat treatment process.
Decarbonization
Decarburization often occurs along with oxidation, and oxidizing gas is also decarburized gas. Although H2 is a reducing gas, it is also a decarburized gas.
The higher the carbon content in the steel, the more serious the decarburization.
Overheated workpieces can be reheated at a lower temperature to re-fine the austenite grains and be remedied.
Burnt
This happens because the heating temperature is too high, resulting in oxidation and melting of the grain boundaries of the austenite part of the workpiece.
As a result, the workpiece becomes very brittle and, if forged, is prone to breakage. Therefore, the burnt workpiece can only be scrapped and cannot be saved.
This is the sharing of some of the problems that will be caused when the workpiece is heated, I hope it can help you.
