Shut up, Eat it and be Thankful - I cook, and it's all good

Anyone else have the joys of the British school system and it's cookery classes? All those things you got to make - rice krispie cakes, putting stuff together from pre-packed items rather than making it from scratch, not being allowed to use the cooker as the teacher was the only one allowed to touch it.

Yeah, no wonder so few people can cook from scratch.

Well, I spent my entire childhood (and a sizeable part of my adulthood) convinced that I couldn't cook. So I learnt. Poverty (I'm disabled and in the UK - living on less than £6000 a year is pretty standard here for those with conditions) was a hell of a motivator and I not only became a good cook, I became a thrifty cook. I now sell what I make at conventions and online.

So I got thinking whilst playing Cooking Mama "how many people want to cook, be healthier, make something sweet and think they can't because of money or training?". Screw it. This is a game blog, but I'll do a little bit each month/week (if it's popular) teaching people how to make something to eat. Can't play games if you're starving. You'll end up fighting a massive poop demon and then your elf will fall off a cliff and die. I've seen this happen. No elf-poop-cliff-death in gaming.

This new side venture will be named "Shut Up, Eat It and Be Thankful", in honour of my favourite radio comedy, 'Old Harrys' Game" (listen to it, it's hilarious, it's a sitcom set in Hell).

Later today I'm hoping to put the first recipe of mine up. A desert of my own creation, called a Jamie (named after a friend). It involves cheap ass chocolate, and is silly easy to do ;)
