Pav Bhaji- A popular Indian food
Pav bhaji is a food that is famous in India, particularly in the parts of Maharashtra. Its also served as a very popular street food and will leave you licking your fingers!
Ingredients needed-
Fresh pav
Chopped onions- 2
Finely chooped coriander for garnish
Butter one tbsp
Chopped potatoes- 3
Finely chopped capsicum
Tomatoes- 2
Green peas 1/2 cup
Sliced lemon - 1/2
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Pav bhaji masala 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1tbsp
Ginger garlic paste one tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tspn
Cumin seeds 1 tspn
Method-
First, take a pan and add chopped potatos, tomatoes and green peas
Add about one cup of water with about 2 tbsp of salt and let it boil until cooked well.
Once they are cooked put all of them in a grinder and blend it well into a nice paste.
In the same pan, heat some butter and once its melted, add chopped onions, cumin seens 1 tbsp , red chilli powder and ginger garlic paste and mix well so it all gets comined nicely.
Add chopped capsicums, pav bhaji masala, garam masala and turmeric and give it a nice mix.
Once it all all nicely sauted add in the paste that we made before and mix it nicely and evenly
Add salt if you feel the need to. Let the bhaji cook for some time on medium flame and keep mixing it
You may also choose to add some red food colour at this stage but it is completely optional.
Remove the bhaji onto a bowl and heat the pav with some butter on the tawa.
Serve both of them onto a plate and garnish the bhaji with some finely chopped coriander and finely chopped onions.
Add some butter on top of the bhaji along with a 1/2 a squeezed lemon.
Your pav bhaji is ready to be enjoyed!
