Conversations #1: South Pole online
I know everyone is still buzzing over their Steemfest experiences
recapping interesting conversations about Steem, what it needs or what it doesn't need, or all the fun and cool steemians in real life and why you shouldn't mix tea with beer or lend your scarf ^^
I came back and it took me awhile to clean up my room from last minute packing..
While tidying up life keeps on going and interesting conversations keep on happening :)
I thought I'd share some of them in a series of posts (with the kind permission of my friends).

no, sorry.....interent is extremely limited, we only get it a few hours a day over satelite
and the bandwidth is very lowooo! it's daylight all the time huh? B)

Are you at Amundsen-Scott? A family friend stayed there, when calculating the existence of the subglacial lake Vostok. it was back in the 60s :) a soviet researcher at an american base...

oh, wow! that was probably with the old station, the so called "dome"
They used to have a 20 m perimeter marked with barrels around the South Pole, and if you walked around them you could buy a diploma for a dollar at the base. It identified you as a person who had made a round trip around the world xD
Then the barrels were completely covered by snow, so they started to sell the South Pole membership cards. Do they still sell those? if yes i'd like one for Xmas :Dnice! they don't have that anymore ;) but i can still travel around the world.....i think i did so yesterday several times

Ah the literal 🍺&🍵 mixing was two days before that. You didn’t come because you had a presentation early the next day.
Shit, I remember that night! It was the night I slept the earliest from the whole SteemFest, only 2 AM, so boring. You miss so much in a single night, damn presentations.
