Good evening all you lovely writers! I hope the weekend treated you well! I enjoyed reading all the stories from week #31 and it was nice to read some humorous stories for a change. I have considered incorporating more animals into the mix so be prepared to see that in future posts! They’ll vary of course from cute, grumpy to fearsome! This week’s prompt has a dreamy unfinished look and I hope it brings you all inspiration.

The progress...

I started with a pencil sketch.

Then began to shade in the same warm tone but with the round brush tool.

I went back in with a purple pencil to add more definition.

Then shading again with purple.

Next I continued to deepen the shadows with that same purple tone, creating more contrast.

Then a background color to fill the negative space.

Before I could call the image complete I decided to add more details to the image. Now it’s got the right balance for that finished not perfect look!

_{Katherine Pennywag walked down 5th Avenue with a smug face looking down her nose at everyone she came across. They all knew her as the heiress billionaire who spent freely everywhere. Only in one lavish department store window setup there sat a cat, or a dog, that looked back at her with the same reproach. Of course Katherine Pennywag had to stop and stare to meet the gaze of this cat, or dog? Most creatures looked away instantly upon meeting the eyes like bullets loaded in a shotgun nose that threatened their very existence. Only Katherine Pennywag found herself locked in a first ever staring contest with this cat, or dog, in a fur coat. So she stood there for a while as people walked around her on the busy sidewalk of Manhattan’s upper side. It even started to rain, Katherine Pennywag had not prepared for this kind of weather. Doubt flooded her demeanor and she could not shake it off. Finally she broke her stare wiping away rain like tears from her soggy eyes. Katherine Pennywag’s clothes ruined. Only she walked inside the department store and demanded to know if a cat, or a dog, sat in the window? She then bought it for $150,000 on the spot only she made it walk with her all the way home.}

_{I went out to the terrace and found an interesting scene on the small lawn in front of the building. Two very small kittens were playing while their mother sat not far of them. In her behavior it was seen that it were the firrs kittens of her, and that she went them out of burrower for the first time. Her eyes were like bonuts, she looked at all sides. At every moment she got standing up, turned to the other side, and than started to sit again. Than she turned again. She didn't have any peace, as if she were standing on a glowing burner. The game led kittens to wall backside, where I couldn't see then anymore. The maltese came to the lawn. He stopped when he saw kittens. Dog's owner walked by side path, wearing slippers on feet and bags in both hands. "Arex!" said owner as he saw what would happen. But, owner's words were nugatory compared to animosity of a dog towards cats. At first moment, by habit mother headed to run, but mind of kittens stopped her at first step. She turned to the dog prepared to defend her babies. The maltese ran towards the kittens. Mother ran like an arrow towards the dog. Dog's owner ran towards them all while bags were swinging in his hands. They all went to wall backside, and I couldn't see them anymore. Urgent cat's steps, slippers flapping and dog whimper was all I've heard.}

_{You call me grumpy? Look at me! Isn't it pathetic what you see? They already bred me without hair, with rinkles allover, you call that fair? Pink like a pig that's so not me. No one likes to be close, not even one single flea! They all think I am seriously ill, adviced some meds that needs to kill, the constant shiver inside, that I can hardly hide. So now I have to wear this thing, to hide my body and the shame within, a coat made out of a fox its hair! They had to kill it over there, ...in secret... since the specie is protected and wearing fur is a crime! I really hate this coat of mine.}
