500 FOLLOWERS! A Celebratory CONTEST: The Winner Chooses the concept for my New and Final Theme Redesign for Steemit.com!
I said 6 days ago, when I reached 400 followers, that I would offer a special contest/prize when I reached 500... That moment has come! Thanks as always to those great souls who are following along with me here - I appreciate your support and kind words very much.
The 500 Contest!
As you may already know, I have put a fair amount of my time into designing several themes for Steemit recently and shared them for free via the 'Stylish' browser plugin. In case you missed them, here are the 3 posts that describe each of the themes and how to use them:
Unicorns with Unique Horns Theme
Now I am going to create a final theme for Steemit - I am very busy in life and don't have time to keep making more forever - so this is the last one ever! I am going to offer the winner of this contest the opportunity to choose the concept/style for the new theme. You could choose a colour-scheme, an abstract concept such as 'space' or 'hapiness'.. Or maybe you might choose a movie or a favourite music band.. It's up to you. As long as I can find artwork for the topic that I can use without breaking any copyright rules, then I will make it for you/us.
How to enter the contest
- Upvote this post and write your idea for the theme in a comment under this post - providing as much or as little information as possible about your vision. This will enter you into the contest.
- Read through the other comments and upvote the best idea FROM SOMEONE ELSE that you can see.
- Optionally, Resteem this post to get an additional boost in the contest's final draw. If you let me know that you have resteemed this post when you make your comment, I will vote for your comment myself to give you an extra chance at winning!
That's it.
At the end of the 7 day payout period for this post, I will look at which comment/idea got the most votes and that will be the winning idea - provided that:
- The idea does not require any laws to be broken in the making of it.
- The idea does not promote death/violence/political ideologies or religions.
- The idea is safe to be seen by children and will not get me banned from userstyles.org if I post it there.
In the event of a draw - I will assign every drawing entry a number and the winner will be chosen via a random number generated at random.com.

Hey, you won! I just ran the random number generator to decide between your post and abyath's and you got it! If you want to add to your idea for the theme with extra details just let me know. I am recovering from dental work here so it might take me a couple of days to complete the design.

hey! nice idea to hold a contest like this! A possible theme idea which I think would be super cool could be a Night Time theme. So the screen in general would be dark blue/black and the top bar across could be again dark blue/black with bright stars and the place where in your Avocado Express Theme had the avocado you could have a full moon. It might be a cozy theme for the evening :D Upvoted and resteemed your post :)

I was thinking I'd give it a few days before I decided which other entry to upvote. I wouldn't want to see something spectacular and have my upvote already used. Or can we upvote more than one?

Oh ok, no problem - I just noticed a few people didn't vote so nudged to remind them. You can vote as many times as you like, but that might negatively affect your own idea's chance of winning - if you put one forward.
Yes of course, and well you should. I was just looking for some clarification, besides I'm not under any delusion that I have a chance of winning...I just think that what you've done and the way you've gone about it is worthy of support.
Can you imagine what a world without hate would look like? Could you make a Steemit theme reflecting such?
If you can imagine it, and have the inclination to make such your last offering then I would be very humbled to have helped inspire you in making such a lasting gesture. Even more so should the theme become very popular here at Steemit.
@ura-soul, you are an example of what it is that those who care about and love this platform are trying to project to both current Steemians and future contributors.

Thanks for the kind words. Hate is an interesting emotion, since it is very much misunderstood and heavily judged against unfairly. To me, hate is only extreme dislike - so there is not really anything wrong with hate as it is normal to encounter things we extremely dislike. I dislike and hate war, for example - there is nothing wrong with that hate - the problem is with the war! ;)
I interpret your words to be a call for an end to the heartlessness that causes our problems and I do not have a complete understanding of what a completely healed planet would be like - but I know it would barely resemble our current reality at all!
Agreed, hate is misunderstood and misused to the point of severe dilution to the point it no longer translates to the extreme that is the true meaning of the word...for the most part. "
Hate does often have actions and consequences whether outwardly or inwardly...passively or violently.
I do understand how abstract the concept of a world without hate is. Such a thing is inconceivable. Still a world with little to actually hate in it (war, crime, jealousy) would be easier to live in for all.
In my mind it would take generations to bring such achievement. It cannot be a government driven agenda. Rather it would be a human endeavor. Beginning from within and spreading through family, education, art and culture.
There will always be the dark and the light...imo we all could use a little more light (peace) in ourselves and our lives. And a whole lot less fear and suspicion.

In a sense, yes - nature refers to 'birth', so what is 'natural' is only what is birthed. What is being birthed is in truth, constantly changing - so it follows that change is entirely natural :)

Hmmm my idea for a theme would be Gold/Silver themed pages with Au or Ag on the page and maybe either coins or bars of gold or silver. I think many of the precious metals folks would enjoy these themes!

I think it would be interesting to make a variant with fractals, embodying the chain and blockchain and self-similar growing community of Seemite in blue and purple tones of logo. The music option can be Gladiator Theme • Now We Are Free • Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard.
