Look at me
A lonely acorn
Fallen from a tree
What's my purpose
But to lay here
Let me be
Look at me
Grabbed for food
By hungry squirrels
What's my purpose
But to die here
End my world
Look at me
Escaped my fate
Rolled into dirt
What's my purpose
But to hide here
What's my worth
Look at me
Under the earth
Nowhere to move
What's my purpose
But to wait here
What to do
Look at me
Finally free
Though I'm tall
What's my purpose
But to grow here
Above it all
Look at me
A lonely tree
Acorns all around
What's my purpose
But leave them
To fall on the ground
I wish I'd though of this first - to get drawings for my stories. Full marks for implementing a good idea.
PS: The two lines below do not read right, as they are. If you edit or ask me, I will remove this part of my comment:

Congrats! Feel free to either reply to this comment or reply to my post that features your drawing with my poem with your choice of poem topic. :-D
Yay! Thank you! I enjoy poetry very much. I just had to try my luck.
I'm thinking of a poem about a sacred river.
I'll be making your poem soon! Do you have a title in mind?
Whatever you like. You're the poet!
If you need a theme, the ideas of the top of my head are the Ganges or viking river burials and births (they'd dip babies into the icy water to make them strong just like Achilles in Greek mythology).
