Hi everyone, thanks a lot for sending your answers to me! This was the correct solution of DBG 18:

I received six correct solutions:

I generated a random number to see who wins the 0.25 SBD. The random number generated was five, therefore the winner of the random reward is the fifth person sending in the correct answer:

Today's puzzle

There was an auction with six bidders sitting in the front row. They were sitting next to each other on numbered seats, from left to right (1 to 6). All of them held a table with a number on it in their hands and bought one item only (all items had a serial number).

Based on the statements below, can you find out the bidders’ sitting order (the number of their seats), the items they bought and the numbers on their plates?

1. The person sitting on the second chair bought an item with an odd serial number.
2. The person with the plate having 114 on it was sitting on the 3rd chair.
3. Item number 6 was taken by the person on the 4th chair. There wasn’t 161 on the plate of this person.
4. A person held up the plate with 128, right after having a successful bid for item number 60. This person is not Carl, who was sitting on seat number 5.
5. The person with the plate with 193 bought an item with a higher serial number than the person sitting on the first chair (but not the item having the next highest number).
6. The number on Tom’s plate is smaller than the number on the plate of the person buying item number 53. (Actually this is right before that number if we order them in ascending order).
7. Item 17 was bought by Philip who had an even number on his plate.
8. Andrew sat two seats to the right from the person having 149 on his plate. This is not Alan, who is not sitting on the first chair.
9. Mark bidded for the next item after the client with 130 on his plate, who was sitting somewhere on his left.

Answers should arrive until I post the results of the actual game (usually between 12.00 am and 8.00 pm UTC+1, but exceptions might occur...). This leaves approximately a 12-24 hour time window to send me your answers. (Answers arriving later will not be considered.)

It is possible to correct your answer by sending another solution, but only the last message will be considered for the reward. (So if you send the good answer first and then send another message with a wrong one, then, unfortunately, the wrong one will „participate" in the game.)
