Do not hesitate and share your best article!
MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE?
100% of Steem Power earned by this post will be delegated to @travelfeed. Your upvotes will help to support the mighty Travelfeed.io platform and its amazing community. Keep in mind that the only way @travelfeed uses its Steem Power is to manually curate best #travelfeed posts. It is not a secret that Travelfeed.io is home to some of the best quality content in whole Steem ecosystem. Smash that UpVote button!
WHAT IS TRAVELFEED.IO?
Travelfeed.io is a global community of independent travelers, where it’s easy to meet new people and find information, and where bloggers can monetize high-quality posts. With full-scale manual curation, Travelfeed.io makes sure that the best posts get the visibility they deserve, often months or even years after they’ve been published. Content is monetized through the Steem Blockchain where creators get rewarded with cryptocurrency.
Since February 2018, the Travelfeed.io team has curated over 11,000 travel posts on Steem, rewarding over $100,000 to authors using the tag #travelfeed. One of the reasons why I believe in this project so much is the team behind it. These guys are passionate travelers and travel bloggers themselves. For example, Jürgen Horn @for91days has been making a living as a travel blogger for over 10 years and knows the industry in and out.
The content is manually curated by @smeralda and @elsaenroute. Discord community is moderated by @wanderlass and Steemitworldmap-curator @livinguktaiwan. The main developer behind this project is Julian Peters @jpphotography. He is a full-stack developer and budget traveler. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Information Systems (computer science and business administration) at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany. However, some time ago he realized he will have to take a break from university studies to be able to develop the platform full time.
TRAVELFEED.IO TOKENS AND OTHER COOL STUFF!
Can't wait to know more about their plans to launch Travelfeed token and reasons to delegate your Steem Power to @travelfeed?
I highly recommend reading Travelfeed's recent update posts:
- Introducing TravelFeed BETA
- Important Updates v1.2
- Important Updates v1.3
- Tutorial: Follow the TravelFeed Curation Trail on Steemauto!
My personal experience with this platform has been very positive. I managed to write 3 long articles in two weeks. Those three posts alone earned me 58.65$ or 240 STEEM (+19.1$ for the curators). Keep in mind I did not use bid bots or any other type of tools. All three articles were upvoted by @travelfeed, @jpphotography, @for91days, and other curators. They were also noticed by @curie, @blocktrades, @ocd, @c-cubed, @mariusfebruary, @tombstone, and other Steemit legends. Is it worth to use Travelfeed.io? Decide for yourself.
WINNER OF THE TRAVEL WRITING CONTEST NO.1
The total Prize Pool of "T.W. Contest No. 1" was 120 STEEM. 100 STEEM for the winner and 1 STEEM each for 2nd-21st. It is impossible to express how hard it was to choose the best travel story. All articles were unique and incredibly difficult to compare. However, I reached my final decision and it is time to announce the winner. And the winner is...
The Khmerican Family Abroad | #2 - The Great Ecuador Exodus Pt. 1! by @justinparke! 100 STEEM! <Read>
It is a stunning story about one American guy and his Cambodian family trying to find their place under the sun. Justin doesn't like headers (H1, H2, etc.), he writes in kilometer-long paragraphs, he is a great photographer, but his camera is not as good as its owner and yet, there is something magical here...
Justin's story has the ability to remind the reader what being a traveler truly means. It means that sometimes your day might consist of 99% pain and only 1% joy, but at the end of the day that 1% pays off! Happiness lies in details and a little bit of patience and trust in invisible forces of the universe help those who do not give up!
My wife and kids are Cambodian citizens, and they are now all too accustomed to devastating news in the form of visa denials and being prohibited from boarding flights. These problems generally have something to do with their Cambodian citizenship, either directly or indirectly, no matter how politically correct and convoluted the words are delivered to us at the moment[...]
Dear Justin, I would like to tell you that you and your beautiful family are always welcome to visit us here in #Lithuania. I am extremely happy that such an amazing person like you decided to join this contest and I hope it is not the last time. As I have already mentioned before, you are the winner of 100 Steem and by the time you read this, it should already be in your wallet. Thank you for being with us!
By the way, if you would like me to share a few thoughts about making some improvements in order to make your articles more profitable and more popular on @travelfeed I would be more than happy to help. If you would like to discuss some options just contact me on Discord or Facebook! I truly believe that your stories have the potential to become very popular in this cohesive community!

Marilyn Rabbitgirl and Paparazzi Dog are the work of Gillie and Marc, a husband and wife team who create in harmony to produce fine, contemporary works such as this. An extremely talented couple; Gillie and Marc have used inspired imagery to draw on and have incorporated the powerful connection between man and animal to produce many amazing dog/human hybrid creations.
How about Hobart? by @trudeehunter! <Read>
Some authors used #travelfeed instead of http://travelfeed.io to post their articles. This time it's ok, but please, keep in mind that in order to participate in the Travel writing contest No. 2 you must use the platform. These authors got 1 Steem each too.
- @globetrotterin for "Another beautiful hike"

I think the word "Dervish" has a Persian origin with references to "door" and in our tradition and folklore it literally means a person who walks from door to door. So is the mission of the barbarian dervishes - to drive away evil from every house, in order to give way to good and light. Some people believe the dervishes have supernatural abilities and can perform miracles. All this is folklore, of course! But who knows...

This contest thing is getting big! It is unbelievable, but the last contest post got resteemed 70 times! I will keep these contests rolling for as long as I can, but I could use your help too. As you already know, they are funded mostly from my own pocket. If you decide to follow my curation trail using http://steemauto.com, that would be a great help! This would benefit you too because after the HF21 curation rewards will be twice higher!
Yours,
Tautvydas! (Tot)
Hey @justinparke! I read your last article man. I think it is amazing! I love how much better it looks now. It's not a secret that sometimes visual part of the article is as important as words.
About your 📷. @kamile and I do not feel comfortable carrying our Canon everywhere too. I usually use my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The main picture of this post was taken with it! It is incredibly cheap compared to all those Samsung and IPhone smartphones and the quality is surprisingly good. I think all those Redmi Note series smartphones are great (5, 6, 7).
Do you use any software to edit your photos? I usually use only http://canva.com and "Irfan View". Editing is @kamile thing... :D
By the way, you should use #lifestyle, #palnet and other tribe hashtags for some extra rewards in tribe tokens. Have you heard about them already? Later they can be traded to Steem on http://steem-engine.com. Sometimes you can get more rewards in tribe tokens than in steem. :)
About you article... What kind of things have to be done before you can reopen your restaurant? :)
It's a learning curve for me, but I'm experimenting with shorter form stories involving more pictures. I took some time to come up with a more interesting layout and format too, thanks for noticing. I think if it gets your approval I'm doing better. I do need to learn photo editing a bit more and become proficient with a program, so I'll look into that. At the moment I am trying to learn Shotcut and Synfig for video editing and animation stuff. I will also use those hashtags; I have heard of #palnet before but didn't know much about it.
That's great man. Learning new things is always fun. If you use #lifestyle tag for your posts I'll be able to upvote them with lifestyle tokens. My vote is currently worth about 0.5 Steem if u sell those tokens on Steem-engine. Check out @one.life posts for more info about it. Go to http://one-life.io to see the platform.
Same situation with @palnet - http://palnet.io. Use #palnet tag to get their tokens.
You could also read more about other tribes like http://creativecoin.xyz - @creativecoin - #creativecoin. :) This tribe is for all kinds of artists.
All of those platforms look like Steemit and your post appears there automatically once u use their hashtags. Tokens can be later traded on http://Steem-engine.com
Thanks, I have already began adding those tags, but I haven't yet had time to do proper research yet. You're a wealth of knowledge!
Thanks for hosting this (and for the steem!) and congrats to @justinparke!
Thank you @oheyo. I am blessed and encouraged more than ever to blog. I always thought our lives were too boring because we travel more as migrants than tourists, but I have really enjoyed the feedback from readers.
Ur welcome @oheyo! :D I love hosting these contests!
Awesome stuff man and congratulations @justinparke for the win here! It sounds like a really moving story and worthy of the prize!
Also impressed with those stats about your first 3 travel posts too! I think I had a couple that went above $20 and one above $30 which was unexpected and I'm grateful for!
Anyway, the next contest and it seems it has begun in the nick of time as I just made a post using travelfeed site yesterday! Here's another beautiful drive through the scenic South Island of New Zealand as we make our way from Franz Josef to Queenstown! Fasten your seatbelts!
https://travelfeed.io/@nickyhavey/havey-s-australia-and-new-zealand-adventure-part-21-franz-josef-to-queenstown-road-trip
Good luck to everyone who enters and thanks for hosting the contest man!
I would say that I am jealous, but I wont. :D The only reason is I am in the process of learning to appreciate every day of my life wherever I am and whatever... :D Anyways, great post! Thank you brother!

Haha travelling does that man. Makes you appreciate what you have, seen and experienced 🙂

I agree! What's the weather like on your side of the world? :)
It's been pretty scorchy the last weekend but it's cooled down to a nice and fresh 24C here in the UK. Was up at 34 so definitely a little more pleasant!
Everything more than +20°C is too hot for me. :D
Yes, thank you very much. I am overwhelmed with the support I've had considering the small presence I have as a newbie.
You'll get on fine my friend! Baby steps, it's a big place is steem but it's a good place to be with @travelfeed for sure!

Thank you for this amazing initiative and all the great work you've put!
Have a great photo! :P
Oh man, I would like to see that Bulgarian festival a lot! It's not similar to anything that I have seen so far... :)
Oh, it's really spectacular. 😎📷🍻
I've been to many folklore festivals perhaps I should come out with some new travel photo stories once I return back.
Cheers and

Your welcome. Your post was one of my favourites during the last contest! Please forgive me for not leaving a comment about it after reading it! I was visiting my family had to put steem aside for a while. I hope you will keep participating in these contests! :)
Thanks so much for the kind words and for the opportunities! No worries about commenting, my apologies for my tardiness as well. I had an "emergency" trip that I just got back from, so I understand there are more pressing concerns we need to take care of, lol.
What a great selection of reading from around the world, thanks for update and look forward to learning new places.
Congratulations to all the winners and nominated writers.
Thank you for sharing this post Joan! :) Would you like to join the contest? :D
I will definitely give some thought to joining in thanks.
@invisusmundi — here's my entry for the second contest: https://travelfeed.io/@oheyo/hotel-adeline-in-scottsdale-az-offbeat-vibes-and-ultra-instagrammable
