To Be A Warrior. #0699

in #contemplative7 years ago (edited)

--A warrior should possess three qualities : discipline, persistence and compassion. Be known for three attributes : respect, courage and humility. Possess three weapons : reputation, wits and an eye for detail. And have three responsibilities : truth, honour and love.
--There are three obstacles which may be the downfall of a warrior. Envy brought about by greed, hatred brought about by anger, and distrust brought about by fear. A true warrior will have three regrets : the use of the sword, the weilding of the spear and the notching of the arrow to the bow.
--But if the warrior should remain true there are three certain rewards which will be granted to him. A full cup, a full belly, and a house full of friends. What more can you ask from life? What else is worth aspiring to?

--A song.

''Mine is the sea, yours the bright blue sky.
A silent plea softly fills my eye.
All my words are speech,
All my prayers beseech;
these things have I learned.
The rose she sleeps and the garden's bare.
New snow lies deep on the doorstep there.
But winter's breath will not taste death.
This thing have I learned.
For the honey is sweet and the tree grows strong and we will meet,
pray it won't be long.
You'll dance with me on the rolling sea.
This thing have I learned.''
< Very likely also from writings of Caìsal Môr. >
