What It's Like Being the Son of the Owner of Keller's Best Construction Company

When I was 13 years old my dad starting a roofing company. At first it was just him and I knocking on doors together for hours every day offering free roof inspections that my dad would perform. If people had severe damage to their roofs my dad would inform them and offer to replace it or repair the damage. After only about a year my dad was able to recruit some salesmen and train them on how to find new customers. We had lost nearly everything in the market crash of 2008, so times were tough, money was tight, we had one car for the family of 7 people. My dad worked so hard. And he never quit even when nothing was working. He told me that he loved hiking so he made his work into a game. All he had to do was "climb 3 mountains" every day and then he could be done working for the day. He considered a roof inspection with a presented contract to be a "mountain" So if he presented 15 contracts a week just by the sheer numbers he knew he would be able to provide and keep the company growing.

He did it! 13 years later I'm now twice as old as I was when he started the company, I'm 26, and I handle much of the online marketing for the company. I get to help my parent's grow their business and we get to work together as a team. Since our founding we have learned to do many more construction services. We used to focus solely on roofing. But now as a company we've helped hundreds of people restore water damaged homes after busted pipes. We even help restore properties after fire damage. Which usually also includes water damage restoration because when firefighters put out the fires they get everything wet too. We have a crew that builds incredibly beautiful fences! So beautiful in fact that we were voted the best Fencing company in Southlake our town by a local Southlake magazine! We also do home remodeling including kitchen and bath remodeling, bedrooms and everything to do with making a home more beautiful.

It's so exciting getting to see a customer's happy face when we've finished making their houses beautiful or finally liveable again after a disaster. Sometimes it can be a challenge when we have large amounts of work to get accomplished all at the same time. Because of the Winter Storm in Texas we had over 80 clients at the same time who had their homes completely destroyed by water damage. We did so much water damage restoration, water damage mitigation, and remodeling this year that we all are ready for a break.

It's rewarding to know that my family's business is devoted to helping others. It definitely makes me feel proud of my family and who we are. Our Company is called Compassion Construction
