Lhok Guci Irrigation, New Energy Source Western Region of Indonesia
Program The Central Government and the Government of Aceh to make Aceh as one of the national food granaries has been done for a long time, by printing new fields, building irrigation dams, and reservoirs. One of the programs to support national food self-sufficiency in the west coast of Aceh is to build the dam of Lhok Guci Irrigation Area.
This dam is located in District Pante Ceurumen and includes several other districts namely Kaway XVI, Bubon, Sama Tiga, Johan Pahlawan, West Aceh district. Construction of the irrigation dam has been started since 2004. But after ten years, new irrigation dams and some completed network channels. While the irrigation water network leading to new rice fields of the community, many of which do not yet exist.
The purpose of the Central Government to build Lhok Guci Irrigation Dam is to support the national food self-sufficiency program, to develop the pattern of advanced agriculture by agricultural mechanisms, facilitate the transportation of farmers to the surrounding villages by the irigation inspection road facilities on the trunk and secondary canal, increasing the income and the level live the community and expand employment opportunities.
While the objective of the development is to provide adequate irrigation infrastructure and facilities to increase the intensity of planting and to open new land for the addition of rice fields, in lieu of changed rice fields, and to provide new life and welfare for farmers and communities.
For now it is still in the process of making the irrigation channel that will be planned to the sub-district of bubon. Hopefully the implementation will be completed soon and the community will be able to enjoy the development of this irrigation channel
