We hold the constitution to be sacred because its given us our government over the last 225 years. Not everything we've done as a government has been constitutional, Jefferson making the Louisiana purchase was certainly unconstitutional, but its set the frame. Ignoring that is dne when someone has a different political point to make that is weakened by successful constitutional governance.
