Vegas Mass Photoshooting pt. 4
Unless I missed a few, this ground laying, sharp shooting cop is tied for second place in most appearances by police in the Vegas shooting photographs by David Becker. I've already analysed and made some comments about the absurdity of this entire photograph here. I was aware of another photograph which is almost identical but a few small changes. I'll be doing an overlay comparison on that later. For now, here are the 3 appearances I've found him in so far.
For starters, the whole scene looks incredibly staged, but focusing on this one officer we can find several abnormalities. One, he is not in uniform of any sort. Of course he could have been on duty as a plain clothes officer at the time of the shooting and been called in if he was nearby. Focusing on his legs and foot when laying down, his position seems unnatural and uncomfortable. His shoe appears to be on the wrong foot although I can't confirm or prove this. It has been suggested by a few people that this looks like a mannequin. Examining the facial expression, details on the face, the way his shoulder joins his body and general posturing, we can see why some people might think that he is not a real person. Judging from the photo on the left, it could be possible that the officer is holding the mannequin somewhat upright for the photo. It's hard to see exactly what's going on but it does seem strange. Especially when you put it in context with what else is going on in the full un-cropped image and all the other photos of the night. There's just something not quite right about this guy. I guess proof that this is in fact an officer on the LVPD force would clear some things up. My critical analysis of the Vegas photographs and the story they tell will continue with some more interesting observations!
