RE: Praeceptum - Fictioneer Conflict Prompt Contest Entry

This is oddly darker than it reads. A protagonist at war with herself and in the end, a ceremonial knife is drawn. I guess the assumption is that it will be used as all knives in the story have been used, to end the wielder's life. Or is it to defend herself from the now free hordes? Crafty :) Luck be with you in the contest, Tanglebranch.

I guess we'll never know what happens to Alistair next ;) Thanks for your well wishes, and best of luck to you too!

Oh, that's a nice point of view - using the knife of defend from the free hordes. I had naturally assumed it was for committing suicide out of a strong feeling of guilt

I had assumed she would kill herself with the ceremonial knife.
Now you have me thinking.
Dark, disturbing, riveting, well-crafted story! Love the irony, too (as Jon already noted in a previous comment)
